I am Warren Gray and have held many positions in different careers over my 30 years of work experience. My first 20 years was within the hospitality industry in Vancouver, BC, working in management in many high end hotels in the Lower Mainland.
In 2018 I decided on a change of pace and moved up to the Shuswap lake to build my own house. I knew nothing about building houses, but was determined to learn a thing or too. I was comfortable working with tools and knew there was more than enough info online to figure it out.
This is where I spent many months researching how to do everything. I started at the foundation and worked my way up, putting in every screw and nail. I did hire a couple professionals but my wife and I completed roughly 90% of the work ourselves.
Along the way I learned so much, and found a calling to detailed tile work. This lead me to start my own tile business. I also began a part time career in the fire services in 2019, in 2024 I accepted the position as Fire Chief of the Anglemont Fire Department. In 2026 I was appointed this position for another three year term.
I enjoy building things and also really enjoy helping others on their own DIY journey. If you’re new to DIY projects, I have been there and know exactly how daunting it is.
